Health Outpost
In 2008, GAF initiated a weekly health outpost for three outlying communities of amputated civilians.
Amputated civilians in those communities reported to staff that transportation costs to and from the clinic were more expensive than the cost of health care they could receive at a more local government clinic. GAF responded, sending their staff to the communities on a weekly basis. The staff transports a basic pharmacy and laboratory to the amputated civilians, providing them quality health care at no cost.
32 amputated civilians and over 200 dependents benefit from this initiative.
